About Us – Meet our Team
Jade Cranston – Director
Professional Accountant (SA)
Professional Tax Practitioner (SA)
Jade Cranston is the Director of Practical Accounting Solutions. Jade matriculated at age 17 and started her Accounting career in 2003 by enrolling to study the Bachelor of Accounting Science degree (BCOMPT) through Unisa. In 2004, she took a job at Pinetown Accountants and Tax Consultants, where she spent the next few years doing Articles and finishing off her degree via correspondence with Unisa. In 2008 she wrote her board exam and qualified as a Professional Accountant (SA) with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants, known as SAIPA.
After being crowned the designation, ‘Professional Accountant (SA)’ in 2008, she continued to work as an employee for a few years, getting a diverse experience at two other firms. During this time, Jade was also registered as a Professional Tax Practitioner (SA) with SAIPA’s Centre of Tax Excellence. Jade also furthered her studies and qualified to be an Independent Reviewer. It was always her dream to have her own business and so in 2013 a life change was made and Practical Accounting Solutions was born.
Fast forward to the present day and she now has over 13 years of accounting and tax experience, owns and runs Practical Accounting Solutions and is happily married.
Jade enjoys board games, doing puzzles, scrapbooking, camping, spending time with family and friends, and watching her favourite TV series.
As a child, Jade’s dream was always to be a teacher; specifically a Maths Teacher, hence her love for Tax, and as luck would have it she now gets to teach her trade to her two employees, who are registered as Trainee Accountants with SAIPA.
Renisha is our 3rd year Trainee and is expected to write her SAIPA board exam next year. Renisha has an Accounting degree through UKZN.
Renisha is super-smart and is a great asset to the Practical Accounting Team! Renisha currently handles most of our individual tax clients and oversees the bookkeeping function that is performed by our 2nd year Trainee. Renisha’s current challenge is to gain competency with Annual financial Statements and Company tax returns to get her to the next level in her training. Renisha enjoys playing with her dogs, watching movies and shopping.
Pinky is our 2nd year Trainee and is expected to write her SAIPA board exam in 2019. Pinky has a 3 year diploma in Accounting from DUT, but in order to meet the strict entry requirements of SAIPA, Pinky is currently studying towards her BCompt Accounting Science Degree through Unisa. She is in her second year and is doing very well.
Pinky currently does most of our bookkeeping work, and she spends a lot of time liaising with SARS on behalf of our clients. Pinky’s current challenge is to gain competency with individual tax returns to get her to the next level in her training. Pinky enjoys watching TV, reading and playing computer games.
